Abdul Jabbar completed his Ph. D. in Computer Science with a major in Deep Learning from The University of Newcastle, Australia in 2020. His Ph.D. involved work in Deep Learning — resulting in comprehensive research and development experience in Deep Neural Networks including but not limited to Convolutional Neural Networks, Deep Belief Networks, Deep Q Learning, Recurrent Networks, and Generative Adversarial Networks. Part of his work during Ph. D. was also related to meaningful data generation through manual and synthetic means including 3D graphics tools and Generative Adversarial Networks.

His Focused research areas include image classification, object detection, action recognition, and synthetic data generation. Other areas he worked on include natural language processing, facial landmarks and emotion recognition, transfer learning, predictive analytics, and reinforcement learning.

During and after his doctoral studies, Abdul provided, and continues to provide his services as ML Researcher, Sr. ML Engineer, and Sr. NLP Engineer to multiple companies around the world. Few of the notable clients he has worked with include Allen Institute for AI (USA), Unbox Research (USA), and L2F (Switzerland).

Prior to his Ph. D., Abdul has 2 years industry experience working as a Software Engineering in an Agile environment following SCRUM framework.

He also holds a Bachelor’s degree (with distinction) in Computer Science, which he received from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad in the year 2014.

Apart from being active in the AI/ML space, Abdul avidly follows the international news with a keen eye on geo-political (middle eastern and south east asian) landscape. His other interests include sports, religious debates, and family time.
